Register Today for the “I Survived the Hills” 5k Run/Walk!
York Habitat for Humanity has announced that the organization’s 14th annual run/walk fundraiser will be held Saturday, June 24, 2017. This year’s event, tabbed “I Survived the Hills for Habitat 5K,” will again take place in Dover, PA using the popular rolling course which starts and ends on Allen Lane in Dover Borough. Registration begins at 7:00 AM and the run/walk starts at 8:30 AM on race day.
Over the years, more than 1,500 runners and walkers have taken part in the York Habitat event which starts and ends in a Habitat for Humanity neighborhood. Funds raised got directly to York Habitat for Humanity to better provide low-income York County residents with the opportunity to purchase a safe, decent, affordable home.
“Each year, Habitat is blessed with a committed group of participants and sponsors for this event,” said York Habitat’s Associate Director Mark Mattern. “This really is a wonderful opportunity for folks with a common interest, to come out, run and walk to be healthy all while helping York Habitat for Humanity eliminate substandard housing. We would like to see a record number of participants come to “Survive” the rolling hills of Dover this year.”
Prizes will be awarded to the top three overall male and female finishers in eight different age categories. The top overall male and female runners will also receive special recognition. Donated snacks and drinks will be available at the race site. Registration is open now on the York Habitat for Humanity web site at www.yorkhabitat.org/2017-5K-run-walk.
All levels of sponsorships are available for this year’s event.
