Community Aid Bin In Place

York Habitat for Humanity is pleased to announce that their first collection bin with Community Aid is in place.  The bin is located in a very convenient spot in the Lowe’s parking lot at 1175 Carlisle Road in West York.  Lowe’s has partnered with York Habitat for Humanity on several projects in the past and now will allow the non-profit to use their space for the new Community Aid bin.

“York Habitat wanted to get started with Community Aid and Lowe’s stepped up in providing a very visible location,” said Habitat’s Associate Director Mark Mattern.  “Like Habitat, Community Aid is a faith-based, non-profit organization and is looking to expand their services here in York County.  As we approach the holidays, donating to this Community Aid bin will help Habitat for Humanity and our quest to provide safe, decent, affordable homes for lower income families.”

Anyone wishing to make a donation, may stop by the Lowe’s location and drop off clothing items.  York Habitat will receive credit for the items and Community Aid later sells the items at their Thrift Stores.

Over the next few months, York Habitat for Humanity will be looking for other locations for clothing collection bins in York County.  Mattern says that anyone with a location or an idea for a location, is asked to get in touch with the York Habitat office at 717-854-6168, ext. 102.
