York Habitat for Humanity builds homes in partnership with local, lower-income families in need of safe and affordable housing. As a volunteer driven organization funded mainly by private donations, we depend on the support of the community to continue making homeownership a reality for lower income families. It takes approximately 4000 volunteer hours and costs about $100,000 (in monetary and in-kind donations) to build a Habitat Home.
Our incredible volunteers are the heart and soul of our organization! Without them, we wouldn’t be able to function. Volunteer labor drastically reduces construction and operational costs. Over 1,800 volunteers contribute more than 9,000 hours annually to York Habitat. There are many opportunities to help for all skill levels, on and off the construction site.
An investment in York Habitat for Humanity is a life-changing and on-going one. There are various ways for individuals and businesses alike to financially support our work. From writing a check, to donating an unwanted vehicle, to sponsoring an entire home, we have the right opportunity for you or your business to become a financial partner in a family’s future!
