Non-Construction

There are many ways you can get involved with Habitat that don’t involve working on a construction site! Non-construction volunteers are always needed to help in the office, work with Habitat families, plan events, and serve on committees. You can even volunteer from home!

Check out our non-construction volunteer opportunities!

Construction

You don’t have to know a thing about construction to help build a Habitat Home! All you need is enthusiasm and willingness to learn. We provide the tools, training, and encouragement and have projects for all skill levels and interests! We build year-round on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and every Saturday from 8:00 am – 2:00 pm. Construction volunteers must be at least 16 years of age.

Pat Nelson

York Habitat for Humanity’s February Volunteer in the Spotlight is a great addition to the Habitat Team.  Pat Nelson began volunteering with us on our build sites early 2016.  He loved the Habitat Mission and working on the sites, but he wanted to do more.  In 2017 he committed to sharing the Habitat Mission and scheduling over 75 volunteer spots on our Saturday build days, and succeeded!   He then joined our Board of Directors and has since become the Chair Person of our Volunteer Recruitment Committee.  We are grateful for his commitment to our work, as well as his heart for our Habitat Families.  Thank you Pat!!
